I've traveled to over 70 countries around the world and I know what makes not only a good travel experience but a good lodging experience. With my passion for travel, cooking and meeting people, the Bed & Breakfast environment allows me to incorporate all my passions. Having hosted people from around the world in my private home for over 12 years and looking at my other passions, they all seemed to be possible with the ownership of a Bed & Breakfast. After looking around the country - as well as outside the country - for the perfect place, I happened up this amazing circa 1865 Queen Anne Victorian in the historic district of Easton, MD. Ironically, only 90 min from where I grew up! It's not often that we get to see our dreams come to reality but I'm so happy and excited to see it happening for me. I can't wait to share that joy and experience with my guests!

Had a wonderful afternoon tea. Excellent presentation. Food was perfect. Just like a British afternoon tea. Sandwiches. Scones etc…. You must go and experience it for yourself. 100 per cent the best.
The Hummingbird Inn was one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. Each room has a unique charm. The food was incredible and elevated. I’d come back just to eat a breakfast like that again! We stayed in the Cambridge room. Hotel showers are such a drag, but the shower in the Cambridge room was roomy with amazing water pressure. It was perfect shower for those who are above 6ft. Being able to travel comfortably with my dog is such a joy. I will be back! Eric, you’re swell. Thank you!
Love this place! Staff is super friendly. Place is comfortable and clean. I have an egg/gluten allergy and Eric made me a special breakfast. Our visit was perfect. I highly recommend this place.
My girlfriend and I were having a tough time finding a pet friendly b&b to stay at when we stumbled upon this place. And what a find! Eric goes above and beyond to make your stay great. The breakfast is absolutely awesome - get the hummingbird Bellini. It was so good, we tried to recreate it at home later. The location is perfect, an easy drive to St. Michaels and other places. We can’t wait to come back!
If you are looking for an amazing B&B in the Easton,MD area you have to stay at the Hummingbird Inn. The owner Eric is the best! Eric keeps the rooms extremely clean and makes a delicious breakfast for you in the morning. Social distancing is in place and we felt totally safe. We live in the area and just needed a getaway for one night and we stayed in the St Michael’s room. Excellent room with jacuzzi tub and separate rainfall shower which melted all the stresses away. Eric is a great host and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Thank you Eric for a great weekend!
My brother and I really enjoyed our stay. Eric gave us excellent advice on bike shops, restaurants, cycling suggestions, kayaking suggestions, and which room to select. The room was very comfortable, especially clean, and fully fitted out with conveniences. The breakfast was fine dining. The location was very convenient to restaurants as well. We plan to return with our wives in the spring.
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Hummingbird Inn. I can truly say that not only was this the BEST bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed in, but staying there was like staying at a good friend’s home. Eric was the most amazing host. Not only is he one of the kindest people we’ve ever met, but he’s also incredibly welcoming, warm, and conversational. We spent some time on his porch enjoying wine and conversation our first night and felt right at home. We brought our rescue dog with us on our trip and Eric was so kind to her - the room was a perfect for her and the entire bed and breakfast was dog friendly, which is rare! The St Michaels room was a true dream - the rainfall shower and the jetted tub felt like you were living in a spa. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the decor was top notch. Not to mention...the breakfast Eric prepared each morning was truly phenomenal. All in all, we will definitely be making this a frequent stay when we want to get away.
This was our second visit to Hummingbird Inn and second 5-Star experience! Location was perfect for a wedding we were attending in town and even in Pandemic, area has many other things to offer as well. The Inn itself is beautiful and each room unique. Breakfast is over the top; worth staying the night just for that! Eric and staff are the best.
Breakfast was wonderful and our room was extremely clean and comfortable. Our two dogs also loved their stay. We’ve traveled with them before and they never quite seem to get comfortable at hotels- at the Hummingbird Inn they were immediately at ease. The inn is beautiful and Eric was a fantastic host. It is walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. We’ll definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay! The food was great and Eric was an excellent host. The inn was clean and perfect for a short get-away in the midst of a pandemic. We look forward to our return.
We chose the Hummingbird Inn for our small wedding after having to tentatively postpone our larger wedding ceremony and reception due to COVID-19. Despite postponing the larger wedding, we still wanted to get married this year and needed to find an outdoor setting so our immediate families (less than 10 people) could be with us to celebrate this big step in our lifelong commitment to each other. The Hummingbird Inn helped make our wishes come true! The owner, Eric, was so supportive and accommodating on our special day and the Victorian gardens and patio of the Hummingbird Inn were stunning. It was so much more than just an outdoor space, but a beautiful and comfortable environment with gracious service that made for an unforgettable and charming wedding experience.
Phil and I really enjoyed spending our "mini-moon" in the Easton Room. It was spacious and very well appointed! We enjoyed the breakfasts as they had a great variety and were fresh and hot! Our early coffee was also delicious! Eric was a super host who catered to our every need! Thank you for making our first few days of married life enjoyable!
Luxury hotel experience in a cozy inn. Eric's service alone gives this place 10 stars!! His creative breakfasts were icing on the cake. The rooms are very well maintained and guests are welcome to refreshments in the fridge. I loved seating on the porch and reading a good book. Truly awesome experience celebrating my mom's 50th. Thanks Eric! Highly recommend
Absolutely gorgeous!! Our weekend was wonderful!! The room was beautifully decorated and so very clean. The breakfast is delicious. Eric is an awesome host. Best B&B experience!!
We originally booked our stay for a wedding in Easton, but after the wedding was canceled we decided to keep the room anyway to escape from the city. I'm SO glad we did. We were a bit nervous about venturing beyond home during COVID, but we felt completely safe. Lots of outdoor space, but everyone (guests + hosts) wore masks inside, kept a safe distance (esp during breakfast), and there was ample hand sanitizer in each room. Since it is a small inn (only 6 rooms), everything felt within our control.
From the moment you walk in, you feel at home. The decor is impeccable, inside and out -- so beautiful without feeling stuffy or over the top. Each room is unique & blends historic design with modern amenities. But it's not just the wonderful surroundings that put you at ease -- the hospitality here is some of the best I've experienced. One of the highlights of our stay was sitting on the porch and & chatting with Eric, the owner. He is an incredibly friendly, warm person with so many great travel stories to tell! Eric is not only a phenomenal host, but also an incredible chef. On our last day, he made us the BEST BACON we have EVER had! Truly, he thought of everything you could need to have a relaxing stay - including fluffy robes and lavender bath salts for the tub.
And most importantly -- if you love dogs, this Inn is the place for you. This is the only dog-friendly Bnb we've stayed at, and it was a wonderful experience for all of us -- our pup loved Hummingbird Inn just as much as we did. Simply put, Hummingbird Inn is a truly special place. We will return & rave about it for years to come!
Loved this place. Look forward to visiting again!
Amazing. We loved the inn, the gracious host, Eric, the way in which we felt immediately at home.
Great place, will come back again.
The Hummingbird Inn is an incredible escape in the heart of the Eastern Shore. Eric's incredible and personal service will have you coming back as soon as possible!
Always the best breakfast rooms are just the best always love staying here hope to be back soon.
The Hummingbird Inn is a perfect getaway! The inn itself is cozy, clean, and inviting. Eric's hospitality is above expectation - he obviously enjoys hosting guests and his breakfasts are delicious! We recommend staying multiple days (if only for the breakfasts) and exploring the downtown area of Easton. Can't wait to come back!
The Hummingbird Inn in Easton, MD is one in a million. The place exudes charm; the rooms are well appointed; and the breakfasts are truly outstanding! Eric, the innkeeper, is friendly and accommodating and his dog is lovely. What a wonderful place for a few days of R&R! I highly recommend it.
We stayed here with friends and had a great time! Eric is lovely and his breakfasts were amazing. It's cozy and elegant and SO peaceful. And that porch is to die for. You'll want to camp out there an never leave. So convenient to anything you'd want to do in town.
Wife and I stayed at the Hummingbird Inn Nov.26th and can say it was a first class experience. Eric was a wonderful host and the Inn was first class in all respects. Both my wife and I are experienced travelers and we highly recommend the Hummingbird Inn.
Our stay over a rainy weekend was everything we could have wanted, except for a longer stay! The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets were luxurious. Innkeeper Eric and his adorable pup are excellent hosts, and breakfast is definitely worth getting up early for.
Being at Eric’s was so peaceful and relaxing! The best was just hanging out on the porch, and fresh breakfast everyday. Oh, and we can’t forget about True! I really felt like I was at a home of a family member or close friend. Thank you so much for your hospitality Eric! We will be staying at your place again if we are ever in MD!
Excellent accommodations and warm hospitality! A truly perfect place for a weekend getaway! Gorgeous room, beautiful breakfast, and a lovely host! Loved the Christmas themed environment for the holiday season. We will definitely return! Thank you Eric for giving us a memorable winter weekend!
We had an amazing time at this Inn. It's in a great location, walking distance to the center of town and restaurants. The Inn is beautiful, charming and clean. The host is very gracious and makes an awesome breakfast. We will be staying there again!
Even though I love the idea of a B&B, I've resisted staying in one because I felt like I'd be forced into social interactions. Eric was amazing at balancing hospitality/friendliness with giving us space to have the peace and quiet we were looking for. We stayed in the Crisfield Room and it was so cozy. The bed was comfy and the shower has a luxurious rainfall shower head. We let him know that I can't have gluten and he provided me with a delicious egg-pie thing (I know there's a name for that but it's skipped my mind) and biscuits which were so good! Bev is super sweet (she helps out with the breakfast) and his dog is adorable. The porch was a welcome oasis to enjoy our coffee and chat. We went down to St. Michaels for dinner and discovered the Lyons Distillery. If you like liquor then head to them for beyond yummy options. 208 Talbot had an entire gluten free menu which takes the pressure off of having to navigate a normal menu. Hummingbird was reasonably priced, cozy, and inviting while still allowing for privacy. It was the perfect one-night getaway for us.
We stayed at the Hummingbird Inn for a night in September. Although our trip was very short (we were there less than 24 hours for a wedding), the Inn was a great choice. It was welcoming, clean, and charming. It really exceeded my expectations and the bed was super comfortable! Eric, the owner, was extremely friendly and accommodating, even offering us pastries and scones to go since we had such an early departure. We've discussed coming back so we could actually experience staying there and the cute downtown of Easton. I would highly recommend and I'm a very particular person when it comes to hotels/inns!
We had a great stay! The innkeeper was super helpful and extremely personable. The breakfast was amazing each morning, too. We look forward to staying here again in the future!
Very nice Bed and breakfast. Dog friendly!!!
Eric, owner and host, is wonderful and breakfasts are amazing. This is the second visit here and have many more return trips planned. I definitely recommend. I definitely will return.
Another amazing evening at the Hummingbird Inn (10/24/2019). Stayed in the St Michaels room this time. Extremely comfortable; rainfall shower quite enjoyable. Breakfast very enjoyable.
On a touring trip from England we found it by pure chance and loved it.
The room was excellent - old English style with amazing authentic plumbing fixtures.
Our host Eric was extremely pleasant
We would love to come back one day - and will.
Peter and Philippa Lyons
This bed and breakfast was very nice and relaxing. The owner is extremely welcoming and made sure my visit was a pleasant one. The room I stayed in was spacious with a private bathroom and there is a common area on the main level for guests to relax and socialize in.
By far one of the best B&Bs I've been to. We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of September for Ironman Maryland. I was a late registration, so a lot of places were sold out. Luckily, a room opened up at the Hummingbird Inn and I booked it. From the moment I checked in, I knew a got super lucky with this find. Eric checked me in and gave me a tour of the house. I then joined Eric and a couple other guests (also doing IMMD) in the parlor for some wine. Had a great time!
Over the four night we spent at the Hummingbird, we made some good friends with other guests and Eric. We really can't wait to return! The breakfasts are amazing! Eric works miracles with food! Also, unlike other B&Bs I've been to, Eric gives a choice of two breakfasts and three sides. We tried different items each day because it was all amazing!
The Inn is very well appointed and is done right! Eric really thought of everything, while still managing to maintain the charm of a Victorian home.
We stayed in the Cambridge Room. The online photos don't do it justice. It's a very nice room with a fireplace and a sitting area. Very spacious room. The bathroom is a little small, but well appointed. I was pleasantly surprised at the shower. Great water pressure and spacious. Bed was super comfortable. Built-in USB ports on both sides of the bed in the outlet. Not a feature usually found in a Victorian B&B.
In respect to the Ironman, this was an excellent spot to stay. I was a little concerned not staying in Cambridge. I'm usually a host hotel kinda guy. But, this place was perfect! Cambridge is an easy drive. There are several places in Cambridge you can reserve parking for the entire race week that's right at transition and the expo. Plus, Easton is a great town with some amazing restaurants. If I do IMMD again, I'll definitely stay here.
This place is every bit of a 5 star B&B. Honestly, I can't wait to come back.
Awesome place to take a break. Comfortable room, lovely bath with shower and claw foot tub, very tasty breakfast. Delicious restaurants within walking distance. Overall great!
We had an amazing stay at the Hummingbird Inn over Labor Day weekend! The host (Eric) is fabulous, the breakfasts delicious, and the room itself was super comfortable and charming. Highly recommended...
Wonderful dog friendly B&B in Easton Maryland! Eric makes you feel right at home, doing all the little things... he welcomes you with your state flag flying on his porch, wine in the fridge, and his sweet dog Tru.
Beds are super comfortable and food was delicious!
Where to start....this place is stellar.
We dropped on Hummingbird by chance recently.
Wanted a night away on the eastern shore and decided to visit Easton, MD - a lovely little town with small selection of interesting/unexpected restaurants and shops.
Easton has many arts and specialist events during the year. There's a lovely little theatre which features live music during the summer.
It is a best kept secret in this part of Maryland.
Had previously stayed in St Michaels but Easton has a very different vibe.
We rang Hummingbird and were delighted there was a room available for the night.
This was most welcome as most B&Bs in the area require a min two night stay...some even three!
On arrival mine host Eric warmly welcomed us into his great looking property which he has owned for just over two years.
Dating from the 1860s, the building has been tastefully and graciously refurbed with a much flourish and a lot passion.
All rooms are spacious, en-suite with lovely touches.
Our room was light bright and airy with really efficient A/C. The roll top bath was a nice idea which very much suits the feel of the place.
Also, the room was really quiet with no internal sound issues from other guests....as can be the case in many B&Bs set in older buildings with thin walls!
Eric asks for your breakfast choice on arrival which he seamlessly presents the following morn. Breakfast selections were both interesting and different.
There's a comfy common internal area complete with piano and spacious outdoor porch where you can sit and chill.
Eric is the consummate host and nothing is too much trouble to ensure a perfect stay.
This all conspires for Hummingbird to provide a top notch stay from which to explore the area.
We will be back of that there is no doubt.
Best bed and breakfast that we have ever been to. Eric, the host, was fantastic. Great location and very comfortable and welcoming! Excellent food that was well presented.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Inn. The room was delightful. Everyone was so pleasant and inviting. The breakfasts were so delicious. I loved that we were greeted by our state flag.
Charming restored Victorian. Our host, Eric, was a wonderful host. He was very knowledgeable regarding what to do, see, eat. Also, the breakfasts were fantastic! You must try the Belini. If you are not sure what that is, go to the Hummingbird Inn to find out.
Our stay at the Hummingbird Inn was fantastic! We couldn't have been more comfortable or treated so wonderfully.
The room was beautiful and the bed was divine. Soaking in the tub was a bonus.
Eric, the innkeeper , was an excellent chef and so helpful in guiding us to great places and things to do!
We used the bicycles and enjoyed exploring the beautiful surrounding area.
We would love to stay there again if we are in that part of the country. Don't forget to have some "porch time " and it will be even better if Eric is there to spend some time with you.
We stayed at the Hummingbird Inn in Easton to celebrate our 10-year anniversary and had a wonderful time. The inn has been well restored, is wonderfully decorated, and the food was wonderful. More importantly, however, was the excellent service. From start to finish, we felt at home and appreciated that every detail was taken care of. We will definitely be visiting again.
Amazing place. If you like a B&B experience this is the place for you. My girlfriend and I have been there twice now and each stay was so so good. Go here! Now! Book it. Eric the owner and host is so awesome, from the food to the hospitality, it is top notch!
Beautifully decorated, very lovely atmosphere. Our host was fantastic. And the neighboring town was very walkable and enjoyable.
Perfect, cute and all inclusive B&B to stay if you’re not a local and in for 1 or more nights. All the rooms are Victorian style except for the top room on the 3rd floor. It is modern and spacey. But fair warning ??- if you have a large suitcase the walk up the stairs is a small narrow strip. There is not an elevator. Room is clean and is exactly as depicted in online photos. The chef, the owner and most amazing host is great. He makes the breakfast to your order based on the menu! So good ?. If you’re allergic to dogs, welp- go somewhere else. Truman is always hanging around.
1 night stay was surely not enough. I will be coming back!
We usually stay in St Michaels but this time decided on Easton when I came upon the Hummingbird Inn while checking on lodging. So glad we found this place. This is what you'd expect of a perfect B&B - charming Victorian house complete with a big covered wrap around porch and turret on the corner, unique, spacious rooms all with interesting features, and the freshly prepared 3 course gourmet breakfast in the bright, exquisitely decorated dining room complete with white table cloth. Rooms all updated even when retaining traditional features.
We had the Tilghman Island room on the third (top) floor - with vaulted ceilings (parts of the arches a bit low so need to watch your head), big bathroom with shower and tub - latter claw footed and sits by a window - bath with a view! This is a most comfortable room for two although it has two daybeds and a wooden baby cot so can accommodate more, nice seating especially in the natural light filled rounded turret sitting area. Aircon is centrally regulated by the host so you need to let him know whether the temp is comfortable. All rooms are on second and third floor, no elevator. This is a B&B you'd want to return to - try a different room each time!
Only thing about our room that could use improvement is that the blinds are not light blocking, especially the half moon one above one of the day beds - with only lace curtains, so although the place is exceedingly quiet if you are sensitive to light you will wake up too early.
No coffee making facilities in room but self service is available from 7 am in the dining room where there is a fridge with drinks and snacks and a shelf to keep any food you might have.
Location is central - just a few blocks to downtown shops and restaurants. Free parking on property.
Awesome place to stay. Entire house is very clean and decorated. Eric is the owner and best host we had. We took a motorcycle trip up the east coast and stayed in several B&Bs. Eric's personality is what sets his B&B apart from the others. We both felt like Eric was a friend and not a just a host. Breakfast was 5 star and would probably cost you 30.00 per person at an upscale restaurant.
Incredible experience at the Hummingbird Inn. Eric is a great host who goes out of his way to make his guest's stay comfortable and enjoyable. Not to mention the delicious breakfast!
Walking distance to all things in Easton and dog friendly which is a major plus!
Great getaway place in an attractive inn that nails all the details without being at all fussy. The owner/innkeeper is a welcoming host who also provides a great gourmet breakfast.
Awesome experience at this lovely B&B in the heart of Easton. It's in the perfect location to walk to lots of shops and restaurants. Eric is amazing, the inn is beautiful, the porch the perfect place to relax and chat. Oh, and breakfast was incredible with fabulous coffee, juices, scones, breads, and Eric's scrumptious creations. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Your wonderful stay at the Hummingbird Inn will begin as your enter from the great porch.
The owner Eric will great you and make you welcome and relaxed for choosing this inn. The rooms are comfy and the breakfast selection was great and delicious. Located within walking distance of restaurants, stores and museums. Have Fun.
From the moment you arrive at Hummingbird Inn, you can feel you are in good hands. Eric has made this place into a beautiful, perfectly comfortable, enjoyable space. People more used to expecting to "DO" things on a trip quickly realize the value of just sitting and relaxing on the heavenly porch. Eric makes every effort to assure your comfort and provides a different creative and delicious breakfast every morning. You can't go wrong staying at Hummingbird Inn.
From warm arrival greeting with your state flag flying, to evenings in the living room, to chef cooked meals with personal touches in every room you are cradled in the lap of discreet comfort. Eric is more than an Innkeeper, he is the Spirit of Hospitality, incarnate.
This was our first time at a bed & breakfast and what a wonderful surprise. We felt honored to be welcomed into Eric's beautiful home and we were treated like royalty. Our room was cozy, the bed comfortable and the deep clawfoot jacuzzi tub, well it was just divine. The evening ended on a porch swing, sipping wine and chatting with our host who ended up feeling like a long lost friend. And we awoke to the most delicious aroma floating up from the kitchen. Breakfast was served with coffee, mimosas, blueberry pancakes, home made scones and jellies. We cant wait to go back again, Thank you Eric you are a brilliant chef and host, maybe an angel in disguise ?
Wonderful romantic getaway destination in a comfortable historic building! The Easton room is very spacious and light and you get an instant relaxation vibe ! Host Eric is very welcoming and attentive. Will definitely make an effort to come back
While visiting grandchildren in Easton, my partner and I always stay at the Hummingbird. Splendid accommodations and service - with a top notch gourmet breakfast to top it all off. Eric could not be more attentive and helpful. We look forward to the pleasure of staying here almost as much as we look forward to seeing the grandkids a few blocks away. Very quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking but near restaurants and other downtown places. Can't wait til our next visit.
This is a wonderful inn located in the heart of Easton and only a couple blocks away from the historic downtown. Eric is a wonderful innkeeper and is easy to work with. The inn is beautifully decorated and the food is amazing! It is a great place to have a party or reception in the backyard too. The grounds are well kept and the neighborhood is charming.
This was our first stay at the Hummingbird Inn, and I can safely say we will be back in future! Everything was wonderful: the dcor, the amenities, the breakfasts, and of course, the innkeeper Eric and inn dog Tru.
We would highly recommend the Hummingbird Inn for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway to the Eastern Shore.
Our stay at the Hummingbird Inn was just what we needed. Only 60 miles from home, but a great place for a weekend getaway. Eric is a wonder host and eager to share his wonderful home.
This is definitely where you need to stay if you're looking for a spot near Easton. The house is gorgeous, the food magnificent, the rooms comfortable. All that would have earned Hummingbird Inn five stars. But I'd give a sixth star, if I could, because of the innkeeper Eric. This man is a born innkeeper. He has a sixth sense that somehow enables him to be either an attentive host or a long lost friend - or both - depending on what the guest happens to need in that particular moment. We're definitely going back.
Brought in the new year at this wonderful inn right around their first year in business and dying to go back ever since. Was looking for a more intimate low key New Year celebration and it was just great sitting around, enjoying amazing food prepared by the owner, Eric and laughing all the way into the ball dropping. The rooms are gorgeous, its hard to decide which one to choose. Very warm and inviting and a great place to meet and make new friends. I highly recommend this inn for a staycations, couples getaway, anniversary weekend, heck I would just go back for the breakfast, especially the candied bacon (my boyfriend's favorite - still talks about it to this day). Can't wait to return!!!
The Hummingbird Inn is charming and the hospitality is the best I have experienced at any B&B. The breakfasts were delicious, the grounds are gorgeous and the front porch makes for a perfect gathering spot! We will definitely visit again.

My husband and I stayed in the Crisfield room on the top floor of the Hummingbird Inn for our anniversary. The room was absolutely beautiful, incredibly clean and the shower in that (private) bathroom has a rainfall shower that was SO GOOD. Eric, the inn keeper, is a wonderful and welcoming person who clearly cares a lot about his place and wants to make sure everyone has a great time. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice getaway for a weekend. It's an easy, close-to-everything location in historic Easton with tons of restaurants within easy walking distance. We will be back! -Emily and Zach
This was my second stay at the Hummingbird Inn - the 1st for my husband. My husband is a bit tentative about staying at B&Bs but from the second he walked in and met Eric his concerns were dashed. We were met as old friends or family coming back home after being away. Our 3 pups (the younger 2 had been with me there before) were so happy to be met by Eric and Inn-pup Trou. (Our pup Annie loves her buddy, Trou!) The Hummingbird Inn isn't just "Pet Friendly" - rather it's "Pet Welcoming"!!! So far beyond just "friendly". Our pups love their "Uncle Eric" - and I'm pretty sure that the feeling is mutual. In the evening, our pups were happy to curl up on the floor at Eric's feet while we visited and played backgammon in the parlor.
Every evening, Eric proudly presents you with your breakfast offerings for the next morning. Everything for the 3-course breakfast is lovingly homemade and locally sourced from the nearby Amish market. Eric is a classically trained chef and meets you in the white clothed dining room in the morning donned in a white jacket. He personally serves you - coffee/tea, juices, fruits, selection of breads, the entree you selected the night before and a side dish. One example the morning that we left was: yogurt/blueberry/walnut parfait, homemade scones, Guinness/brown sugar glazed bacon (addicting!!!), and Crme Brulee French Toast. Even now the thought of an Eric/Hummingbird Inn breakfast makes my mouth water!
Our room - the Easton room - a sunny, enormous room with a King-size bed, seating area and fireplace - was sparkling clean, tastefully decorated, and so comfortable! A big bathroom, complete with a claw-foot tub (and plenty of hot water), completed a perfect sanctuary!
The Inn is located in a great area for visiting Easton and enjoying the historic area. Just a few minutes walk from the heart of old Easton you have access to some of the best restaurants we've had the pleasure of visiting. The Inn is also located just blocks away from a "Rail-to-Trails path. Perfect for a morning walk with your pups (pup waste stations are conveniently located throughout) or catching a bike ride.
The Inn and the grounds are so beautiful - so welcoming! Lovingly but not overworked landscaping adds to the classic Victorian ambiance with big grassy areas surrounding the 1830-era home - conversations areas scattered throughout. The "conversation" and "relaxation" theme is further evidenced with the seating areas on the wrap-around porch - perfect for visiting with old or new friends.
Eric and Trou are THE perfect hosts - personal but not intrusive. I am so proud and happy to say that Eric (and Trou, of course) have become wonderful family friends.
Look for the Hummingbird in every room - it's there!
We had a wonderful stay! Loved the awesome bathtub and the convenience to everything. The food was incredible and oh, that coffee in the morning! We will come back if we are able!
We stayed at the Hummingbird Inn for a quick overnight weekend getaway. I can honestly say that it was an absolutely awesome experience! The Inn itself, including the room, was wonderful - clean, comfortable - and it was very obvious that much care goes into creating the environment/aura. We stayed in the newer contemporary styled room and loved it. The rainfall shower in the bathroom was totally unbelievable. Eric is amazing; he is so nice, welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast that he cooked was absolutely delicious. I am very much looking forward to my next stay at the Hummingbird Inn.
We're homesick already for the Hummingbird Inn. It's not like impersonal lodging - it's staying with family! What wasn't perfect? Nothing!!! Everything was incredible! The entire inn was impeccably clean; the atmosphere so warm and inviting; the bed like a cloud....and the breakfast...WOW!
But the #1 attribute was the Innkeeper, Eric, and Inn-dog, Trou! I cant say enough! In a very short time they became great friends. Hope to see you again soon our friends!!!
My wife and I spent a cozy and friendly weekend at The Hummingbird Inn. Eric, the host was great and breakfast delicious. We enjoyed an awesome afternoon, early evening porch gathering with friends and neighbors who came out for company and to sample some wine for an upcoming wedding reception. It is a great place.
The best B & B in town of Easton. Truly a very relaxing experience and enjoyed all the conversation with the other guests and Eric the owner. I would definitely go back!
Our stay--along with our Golden Retriever--was outstanding. Host Eric was welcoming and couldn't have been warmer or more accommodating. The breakfast/brunch he prepared was scrumptious! Our rooms were very comfortable. Can't wait to return.
We—including our Golden Retriever—had a thoroughly enjoyable time at the Hummingbird. Innkeeper Eric is delightful—welcoming and thoughtful. The breakfast/brunch he offers is scrumptious. We can’t wait to go back.
We returned to Easton MD in October, 2018, after being away for many years. We decided to stay at the Hummingbird Inn because of the many outstanding reviews on multiple sites, and were delighted with our decision. Eric, our innkeeper, host, and chef, was very warm and gracious and attentive to our every need. Tru, his canine "assistant", made us feel right at home. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts were varied, offering several choices each day, and we especially enjoyed Eric's delicious biscuits! Eric also gave us excellent recommendations on places to visit and restaurants for lunch and dinner. He really made us feel as though we were visiting as friends. The lovely Hummingbird Inn is a special place!
We had a wonderful experience at the Hummingbird Inn. The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, and we cherish the time spent visiting on the gorgeous front porch. Breakfast was delicious (especially the candied bacon). Eric, thank you for your wonderful hospitality.
This was a wonderful experience last summer! I really enjoyed the front porch and swing. It has been such a long time since I had a chance to just relax and talk and watch the cars like this! The piano and games in the parlor made for really interesting and fun conversations OFFLINE! Breakfasts were incredibly thoughtful and lovingly served and left us the freedom to explore the rest of the day around St Michael’s and Eaton! It was a very cozy and personable experience. And although we didn’t have our dog on this visit-I just love places that allow us the ability to bring our pets if we wish!!
I stayed at the Hummingbird Inn back in October and am still dreaming about making it back there. Eric is such a fantastic host! He takes great care to make his guests feel special -- lots of little details like the flags he posts outside to represent each guest's state or country, or the sign in the dining room announcing the guests and any special celebrations. There was a Murder Mystery Dinner happening that particular weekend, and while I was not able to participate due to being in town for a different event in St. Michael's, I was made to feel at home throughout my stay and at the welcome gathering the night before his dinner event. The room was very comfortable and peaceful, the multi-course breakfast was AMAZING (especially the Bellini's!), the grounds were beautiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed "Porch Time" with Eric, Tru, and the guests to wind down the evening. The on-site parking was a super bonus, and being within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants was especially convenient. (And it's dog-friendly!!!) I loved everything so much that I extended my stay! You will not be disappointed!
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Hummingbird Inn this past weekend. It's a beautiful place - warm and inviting with comfy beds, high thread count sheets, friendly knowledgeable innkeeper, and delicious breakfast! Walking distance from shopping and restaurants, but we were just as happy to hang out in front of the fire with Tru (such a sweet dog!) or soak in the claw foot tub in our gorgeous bathroom. What a wonderful getaway! We plan to stay longer next time!
We loved The Hummingbird Inn. We are repeat customers. Eric is a great host and a great cook.
Amazing find. I was glad to find this charming Inn. Lovely atmosphere , great host and an amazing breakfast. I would go back anytime!
My wife and I are wanderers. We had a delightful time in Baltimore and Annapolis and then decided to drive down the Eastern Shore. We stumbled, as we are prone to do, into the Hummingbird Inn and were absolutely delighted. Great accusations, friendly host, and short walk into town (with great restaurants) and a short walk to an urban hiking trail.
My wife and I stayed here last summer and it was an outstanding bed and breakfast. Eric, the host, was very pleasant and we had the good fortune to be there the night he had the neighbors and friends over to taste the various wines that would be served at an upcoming wedding reception there. It was a lot of fun. The place is within easy walking distance of a number of fine restaurants. The room and house were very clean, tidy and comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Eric puts up the state flag for each guest depending on what state they come from. It was a great weekend and a lot of fun.
We had a fantastic experience staying at the Hummingbird Inn in Easton, MD. Last March my husband and I brought my sister, her daughter and husband for a weekend on the Eastern Shore. Our daughter is an attorney in Easton so we have been visiting each March to enjoy the oyster buffets and tour the area. We are from the Hershey area in PA and my sister and family are from NJ. The rooms were clean and well furnished allowing for a wonderful weekend outing. The breakfasts were delicious and well served. We all especially liked the warm hospitality provided by the Inn keeper, Eric. We will return!
We (me, my wife, family and dog) went to the Hummingbird Inn in April on our way down to OBX. Stayed for 2 nights. Outstanding, relaxing stay with excellent food & hospitality. We liked it so much that we stayed there again on the way back. It's a welcoming place that instantly feels like home. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
If I could give the Hummingbird Inn a score of 100 I would! Everything was beyond wonderful but the #1 feature that made it absolutely perfect was the Innkeeper, Eric! Such a gentleman! You feel the warmth and the comfort from the second you see the beautiful faade to curling up in the living room in front of the fire! I felt like I was home with a new best friend! Although listed as "pet friendly" it is actually "pet welcoming"! I have never seen my pups so relaxed and so very happy. They even laid down on Eric's feet and fell asleep - snoring gently! Loved the water bowls in the room bath! And Breakfast! Really?!?! It was a gourmet "petite dejeuner"! Served in a sunlit dining room with bright white tablecloths the two selections (you order yours the evening before) is served by Eric in a starched white uniform. Professionally trained, Eric is happy to present a perfect way to start your day. Perfect!!!
My daughter's wedding reception was held at Hummingbird Inn in late April 2018. Many of the wedding guests stayed there overnight. The accommodations were lovely: bright & clean & nicely done. Eric bent over backwards to make our experience there wonderful. Although the reception was catered, Eric provided us a lovely, tasty brunch the morning after the wedding. Highly recommended !
The Hummingbird Inn is so delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Eric is a wonderful host. He and his sweet dog Tru are very welcoming. The accommodations are just perfect, with lots of small, personal and comfortable touches that make this inn very special. Eric served us a delicious and wonderfully elaborate breakfast. He's an amazing chef. I highly recommend The Hummingbird Inn and look forward to my next stay there.
Such a warm, friendly atmosphere. Eric does an amazing job and is a fabulous cook! We're definitely going back to this fun B&B.
One of the best, most welcoming inns we've stayed at over the decades. Breakfast was a smash hit! Room was pleasant and clean with everything we needed. The only issue we had was one electric wall fixture not working, but everything else was so nice that it wasn't any more than a very minor ripple in our stay. Great location to walk just about anywhere in the town, yet away from the main drag so nice and quiet at night. Highly recommended.
Very charming and nice place in a great little town. The host could not have been more hospitable. The breakfast was excellent. Very pet friendly. We will stay there again.
Eric is a jewel who makes your stay as charming as possible and was most accommodating. Breakfasts are fabulous and lovely start to the day, as is conversation with and recommendations from him. The home has wonderful images and stories, and you can feel the warmth throughout the space and from a most gracious host. I would stay here any time.
Charming innkeeper, cozy and comfortable room furnishings, great in-town location that's walking distance to everything in Easton and a delicious unforgettable breakfast. It's even pet-friendly so we brought our dog (for a modest fee, the innkeeper watched the dog while we went into town for dinner.) We felt right at home at Hummingbird Inn.
Lovely small city atmosphere; beautiful nineteenth-century property; well-maintained and furnished; gourmet quality breakfasts. Near perfect
Eric was so hospitable! I planned a surprise getaway to celebrate my husband and I for our 5 year wedding anniversary. Eric truly helped make it a memorable weekend. He suggested things to do in St Michaels, places to eat, and had champagne waiting for us in our room. In addition, breakfast, that he served, the next morning was delicious. He is so catering to his guests and his relaxed environment really helps you unwind and enjoy. The house is truly charming and we loved admiring all of the decor. We will be back!
We loved our visit! We had the best breakfast ever- I still think about the delicious coffee and meal. Would definitely visit again! Loved the room and snazzy claw foot tub.
The Hummingbird Inn is topnotch. Eric the Inn keeper provides a warm and comfy personal experience for his guests. Porch hang out/talk time gave us the opportunity to meet other guests. My husband raved about our breakfast which we were supposed to each get one of the choices and share (he didn't share). Eric's culinary skills alone are worth the visit. Come a guest leave a friend.
Stayed at the Hummingbird Inn for a wedding, in the St. Michaels room. Eric is a fantastic inn keeper. Unlike so many b&bs that seem to blandly play to the lowest common denominator, the Hummingbird’s space and grounds are really special, curated with an intention and sincerity that I found refreshing.
The meals were flat out great. I enjoyed the town a bit; the farmers market had a good band and the Art Center has a small but world class collection of contemporary work. A great place.
My husband and I stayed at Hummingbird Inn initially as a gift from my daughter and son for Mother's Day. We loved the Inn so much we stayed an extra night! Eric was a great host and his breakfasts are fantastic! Loved the area too! We are looking forward to another visit soon!
Wonderful room, lovely front porch and garden, fabulous breakfast and wonderful host. Clean, comfy and elegant place to stay, with short walk to restaurants and shops. We will return.
This is an amazing place to stay!!! Great accommodations, the breakfasts are fabulous and the owner is out of this world!! Can't wait for my next visit!!!
Very warm, comfortable and charming Inn. Wonderful Innkeeper who knows the meaning of Customer Service and Hospitality. To top it off a great chef. I've been there many times and hope to go back again soon.
We needed a quick break from the city to celebrate a milestone. The Inn has a warm and comfortable vibe. Very peaceful. The garden is lovely. We stayed in the upstairs suite, Crisfield Room, which has a contemporary style and comfort. We LOVED being able to bring our dog. We never heard or were bothered by two other dogs - a sign the animals were at peace as well. The town is lovely and inviting to walk. Eric, the Inn Keeper, is a fabulous and creative host. Engage with him! He is a master at food and ambiance - check out his amazing kitchen...we think the breakfast is the best kept secret on the Eastern shore. I wish we lived closer to enjoy evening socials on the porch or the creative events Eric is designing for fun in the area. Despite just a one night stay, it was a stellar experience and special memory for us. We hope to be blessed to return one day!
We had a great stay at Hummingbird Inn- the house is gorgeous, the beds are super comfortable, breakfast is home cooked, beautiful and absolutely delicious and the company is wonderful! Eric is an incredible host and he does a great job with all the little touches that make you feel welcome and cared about! We can’t wait to visit again.
Loved so many things about this B&B. The slipper tub in the bathroom, the innovative breakfasts, the wonderful wraparound porch, a vested innkeeper very knowledgeable about the area and a delight to talk to and share a glass of wine with at the end of the day.
Overheard Eric making plans for a Murder Mystery event. Hope I don't miss it! Sounds like so much fun.
Definitely will be back - with bells on.
JoAnn
Fantastic stay. The innkeeper (Eric) went out of his way for anything we wanted. Breakfast details really were very well presented and put together. We traveled with our pets and we were made to feel very welcomed. Highly recommended. We look forward to our next visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Inn. Our room was incredibly spacious and their breakfast each morning was fantastic. Our host, Eric, was warm and gracious and always helpful whenever we asked for information about the area. But despite all of these wonderful qualities, our favorite part of our stay was being greeted each morning and afternoon by the property's adorable dog, Troubadour. We would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to the Easton area.
My husband and I found this GEM of a B&B a year ago for our Anniversary. Eric and wonder dog Tru made our stay incredible with such caring and true enthusiasm to make our stay perfect. We are returning again this Sunday to celebrate our Anniversary again! You will not be disappointed with your decision to stay at this amazing B&B! The Breakfast is delicious and the warm inviting atmosphere is welcomed.
Eric and True are the best and have imprinted on our lives forever. Stayed for a place to have a quiet morning following our wedding. Incredible breakfast as well! We will be back.
My husband I hosted a small anniversary party at the Hummingbird Inn. Eric could not have been a more gracious and accommodating host. All of our friends loved it. The inn is just great setting to meet other guests, relax, and unwind. Can't wait to visit again!
You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay at The Hummingbird Inn Easton, Md! Everything is top notch with attention to detail and charm.
Eric will be there to make to feel right at home. He works very hard, but as he tells you it's not work at all, because he loves his work. We will be back Eric for years to come.
We spent a wonderful weekend at this quaint B&B! The inn is wonderful, as is the host! And a fantastic chef. Breakfast was delicious. We had a second floor room with king bed and a great bathroom with tub/shower. The town itself was fun to walk around and relax, and we were only 10 minutes from St Michaels. A relaxing weekend!
Really wonderful experience. I've stayed in B&Bs all over the country, but this one was top notch. Eric is an extremely talented decorator, and our room was perfect. Such attention to detail! And the bed was exceptionally comfy. Eric is also so friendly and a very, very good chef. So attentive to our needs. Loved it!.
My husband and I celebrated our tenth anniversary at this beautiful Easton gem. Eric is fabulous and his love for what he does shines through each experience. Breakfast was amazing..we enjoyed a lovely conversation on the porch with Eric, gorgeous details in each room, luxurious bath towels and super comfortable bed..this is a must stay ! Cannot wait to return here ?
Stayed for three days at Hummingbird Inn, B&B in Easton MD in the ultra-Modern (Crisfeld Room-our favorite!!), and Victorian Cambridge room. Both rooms were cozy, quality linens...down comforters and pillows, shower like waterfall-exceptional, heated towel racks, and privacy. We went in the summer but, so nice we stayed in the room 3/4th the day!
Breakfast is included: diet accommodations, and amazingly healthy. Eric is a top chef, genuinely sincerely devoted to making your experience one that floats. He takes pride and care in services he provides, is non-intrusive, warm and welcoming. A fridge and microwave are available. With advance notice, Eric took care of all my dietary requests (I have a lot of allergies/sensitivities) and did not make me feel high maintenance. Private or communal tables at breakfast. You are welcome to take coffee to your room in the morning...was ready by 6 am (!), and breakfast lasts until 10 am unlike many B & B's that start earlier and briefer span, overlooking the idea that relaxation includes sleeping in and not being on a schedule.
Hummingbird is a short commute from the surrounding DC area. Crisfield room is great for teleworking with a nice desk and different lounging areas as it is a suite. The neighborhood is low key. Location can break up our commute from the Washington DC area to Rehobeth Beach or Ocean City (family rooms available), less a diversion. Anniversary, birthday, holiday, or visit to the April sea glass festival. A winter or fall getaway to just want to hang out in a room or on the wrap around porch good or bad weather. All these are now options for us to return.
Prices are reasonable to other very nice bed and breakfasts where non-continental style breakfasts are included. What a treat, highly recommended!
The Inn keeper sincerely puts his heart into running this B & B, inclusive, accommodating, and warm without being intrusive. Unique amenities to many B & B's such as: amazing showers, heated towel racks, bring your early morning coffee to your room, wrap around porch for all kinds of weather (fan to keep away bugs, heater to keep you warm), and one ultra modern "Crisfield" room that is very large. Each room is unique, cozy, and clean with down and cotton quality linens. A nice stop on your way to other places without detouring your trip to beaches and not a long commute outside of Washington DC area. These are some of the reasons for our enjoyable stay.
Celebrated my Dad's 90th Birthday (!!!) at Hummingbird Inn. GREAT EXPERIENCE! All the guests were impressed with the Inn and the many many special touches provided. Hummingbird Inn is definitely more than just a place to sleep! THE PORCH!!! I highly recommend a stay here for a special occasion, or just for a special treat for yourself.
I can't say enough good things about the Hummingbird Inn! My sisters and I stayed there this past weekend and had the best time! The only thing better than our host, Eric, was his candied bacon he graciously wrapped up for us since we couldn't stay for breakfast Sunday morning. It was incredible! As was every part of our stay. Highly recommend, and thank you Eric for a wonderful time!
Gorgeous Inn. Fabulous rooms, all with en suite bathrooms. The breakfast alone is worth a visit. The Innkeeper was born to run a B&B. He knows how to make people feel comfortable and welcome.
Excellent lodging. Stayed on floor three in the Chrisfield room. Room was huge. Rain showerhead which was amazing. Innkeeper Eric was awesome. Breakfasts were outstanding. We've dubbed this our new favorite place. Quaint restaurants within walking distance in a charming town.
Charming, elegant, friendly, delicious breakfast, lots of communal spaces. Modern amenities in a Victorian setting. Eric went above and beyond to make sure all 8 of us had everything we could possibly need or want. Didn't want to leave, can't wait to go back!
If you’re planning to stay in the area, don’t think about stay here... just do it! The breakfast was amazing and Eric the owner was even more amazing.
The Inn is in a great location. I can't wait to go back and explore the surrounding area. The bed was very comfortable and having en suite bathrooms was a huge plus. I can't say enough nice things about the owner, Eric. He is a charming host and a fantastic chef. Breakfast is to die for! I loved hanging out in the parlor or on the porch with my family and Tru, the Inn's mascot. Can't wait for my next visit!
Incredible stay and amazing experience. Great food, beds and showers are incredible, worth every penny. Eric is the man!
Amazing place and stay. Food is incredible, beds and showers are exceptional. Eric will take care of you. I had no problems or any complaints. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.
Just returned home from my second stay at the Hummingbird Inn and I’m scheduled for a few more days soon. It’s located in a great central location in Easton...perfect for parking your car during your stay and walking all around town to visit art galleries, shops and restaurants. The Inn and surrounding porch and yard are comfy and inviting. Eric is a relaxed and outstanding host...and his breakfast creations are a real treat. We’ve recommended the Hummingbird Inn to all of our friends and family. Enjoy!
We ventured to Easton and the Hummingbird Inn with a mission. Explore the Eastern Shore and figure out if we could think about retiring to the area. Had stayed here for a short overnight a month before and loved it, so back we came (that literally has never happened to me), this time for two nights. Loved the location, loved the home, loved the room, loved the company, loved the breakfast (understatement) and ahem, loved the bacon.
Eric was the epitome of a gracious host, we only found out later after a glass or three of wine, that this was only his second year as an innkeeper. He has the chops for this job, and he makes it seem easy.... I know it's not. We asked many questions about the area and he had all the answers and they were spot on. From the place to get a good Manhattan to a chill place on the water for a crab cake, this guy has done his homework... I think in fact, he has lived his homework, and we are the better for it.
The house is a lovely reflection of his personality, his world travels and his story. Be sure to ask about his story, the Hummingbird story, its so much a part of what this Inn is all about. I promise you are going to feel like you have a new favorite friend, not just a new favorite inn after your visit.
We appreciated the parking, the ability to walk to several places for dinner and did I mention the bacon, and the coffee? The fact that such a creative and tasty breakfast is included in your stay is surely a treat.... don't miss it. He also goes out of his way to accommodate picky eaters, food allergies and aversions without fuss.
If you are passing through from the North, or getting out of DC for a quick getaway, Easton is a lovely spot, and this inn is a perfect choice for your stay.
We will be back, of that there is no doubt.
Excellent accommodations! Eric is a fabulous host. The breakfasts are incredible and includes a three-course meal. Comfortable temperature, fabulous showers, and comfortable bedroom set up. Everything was excellent and I would definitely return.
I visited the Hummingbird Inn with a group of friends over Memorial Day Weekend. Eric was fabulous from the first email to the very end of our stay. He is a very friendly, generous, and gracious host. Our room was just as described and we very much enjoyed the claw foot tub. The breakfasts were amazing! The grounds were gorgeous, and we loved sitting on the wraparound porch. A perfect stay in every way!
We couldn't be happier.
Our getaway began with timely email exchanges with our host and owner, Eric, for dinner recommendations and accommodations for our dog. Eric met us when we arrived; introductions and guidelines were simple, short and sweet. The dogs got along famously. We stayed in the Oxford room, a comfortable Victorian affair that is pleasantly uncluttered with its own bathroom (a feature of all the rooms at this B&B). The next morning, the breakfast salmon and broccoli quiche was delicious, as was the freshly made bread, served in a bright dining room.
We wanted an easy, unfussy, and private getaway, and that is exactly what Eric gave us. His understated and accommodating demeanor and detailed attention are reflected in an establishment that we are sure to enjoy again, and that I know will be the success he envisions.
Thanks again, Eric. With regards, Matthew.
Absolutely loved this place ! Eric is such an excellent host and cook . My friends and I can’t wait to go back !
Exceeded all expectations! The room was better than the pictures, jacuzzi tub put me to sleep. Rain head shower was torrential!
I was not prepared for such an amazing breakfast, we were both blown away. I would have been happy with toast, but it was luxurious! We will both remember the breakfast for a long time. Eric is a true chef and goes above and beyond any Bed and Breakfast we’ve ever been to.
Porch time with wine was great, would’ve drank another bottle or two but was ...

My friends and I (4 total) came for the running festival and stayed in a room on the 3rd floor of this very pretty, renovated Victorian. On race day we were up very early and offered a continental breakfast. We chose coffee and freshly baked muffins which were delicious. The 4th in our party was injured and stayed behind for full breakfast. She said it was outstanding. Eric was a knowledgeable and wonderful host. We will return.
My friends and I (4 of us) came for the running festival and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming, well situated B and B. The house is a renovated Victorian and we stayed on the top (third) floor. Our room was very clean and Eric was a wonderful host. On race day we had home made muffins and coffee (both delicious) and an injured runner in our party was fortunate enough to stay behind and enjoy a full breakfast. She said it was outstanding. We will definitely return to Hummingbird Inn. If you go, ask for Trou (tru). He's amazing.
We stayed here on our wedding night and our only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer! The house was AMAZING and Eric was more than accommodating. We can't wait to stay here again.
Eric Levinson, the innkeeper, is exceedingly welcoming - the perfect host. He will join you in conversation, telling stories about the inn, etc., if you want; or will leave you alone if that 's what you prefer. His breakfasts are superb and the accommodations themselves are exceptionally comfortable. I highly recommend a stay at this wonderful Victorian inn.
I'll keep my review short & simple: I've stayed at a lot of B&B's over the years. This one is by far the BEST. This is the 2nd time I've stayed at the Hummingbird with my family and dog. The laid back relaxed hospitality, attention to detail, outstanding breakfast every day along with the fact that it's apparent that Eric enjoys people, dogs & is passionate about what he does. It's a great inn & great business! I can't say enough great things about it. Thanks Eric! We really appreciate everything!
P.S. Most hotels & inns may claim to be "dog friendly". The Hummingbird truly is.
Beyond wonderful! Eric is a welcoming and attentive host and the Hummingbird Inn is cozy and warm and you never want to leave! My Mom, sister and I were doing a girls getaway weekend and wanted to stay in St. Michaels. They were booked because of Winefest, so we decided to stay in Easton at the Hummingbird. Well, all I have to say is I will be staying at the Hummingbird for now on! Just a relaxing place, everything is within walking distance, minutes from St. Michaels. Eric is awesome and the food is phenomenal! Eric has a special gift in the kitchen. I am getting ready to book my anniversary weekend and birthday weekend as well. Hummingbird Inn is my new favorite place! You will not be disappointed.
Serendipity led us to the Hummingbird Inn in Easton, MD. We left Cleveland in a driving snowstorm and arrived in Easton a few days later and checked in with Eric, our host just as Spring arrived and the temperatures climbed into the 70s. The inn is a remarkable place with comfortable furniture and wonderful breakfasts prepared by Eric, a man of many talents. The room was comfortable, the bed and pillows were great and the setting idyllic. Eric hosts a porch gathering of friends and neighbors who about as eclectic a bunch as you will find and we had a great time. We spent some time in Oxford admiring their Shields fleet and a good deal of time in St. Michaels.
It was a great place to stay.
Where do I start ! There is just so many amazing things about the Hummingbird Inn and Eric the owner! My friend and I stayed here to celebrate our birthdays. The minute we came through the door we fell in love with this beautiful house. Eric was welcoming, attentive, and an amazing chef! The furnishings are gorgeous and so cozy throughout the house. Eric went above and beyond for his guest . The little extra touches, did not go unnoticed . When we went out during the day, we couldn’t wait to get back to the Inn to enjoy Parlor time with Eric, Tru ( his sweet 13 yr old doggie) and many of the guest. So fun and relaxing. Great stories! We can’t wait to return! You will love your stay here. I highly recommend it !
This is a wonderful B and B in a great little Chesapeake town. Eric is magnificent at his job...I truly can't say enough wonderful things about him. My (now) fiance and I stayed here the night we got engaged, and Eric went above and beyond to make sure our stay was super special. He upgraded our room, had champagne waiting when we arrived, and even had a "she said yes!" sign in the breakfast room the next morning. Apparently my fiance had given him the heads up that it was a special occasion and Eric had provided many recommendations to him for great places to eat and celebrate, and even propose! Thank you Eric, we will be back!
We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Hummingbird Inn! Eric is a gracious, smart, witty, and warm host who thinks of everything - in advance. The bed in our room was sooooo comfortable -- loved the gas fireplace and old fashioned tub- romantic and cozy. A must for those visiting Easton or passing through, whether for business or for pleasure.
My boyfriend and I wanted to get away for the weekend and decided to check out Easton, MD. Our time at the Hummingbird Inn was really fantastic. Eric was a very welcoming host who is meticulous about presentation and making sure his guests have a great stay. We enjoyed chatting with Eric with some wine in the evening. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious and beautifully presented. There are snacks available to the guests and a lot of great amenities available. One of our favorite things about our stay was that Eric puts out the state flag from where you are from outside while you are staying at the inn. It was a nice touch!
Amazing Bed and Breakfast

Beautiful, bright, airy, clean, breakfast was sooo good. Nice weekend retreat with hubs. Will definitely be staying again.
We had a fantastic weekend. Eric was a great host.
We found the Hummingbird Inn quite by chance, and we were only going to spend a night to break up our drive back to Ohio. We ended up staying a second night and celebrating NYE with Eric, his other guests, and friends and family.
The Inn is beautiful, comfortable and very welcoming to dogs. Breakfast is amazing. It’s obvious Eric has a passion for hospitality. In just a few months, he’s made connections to the best restaurants in Easton and St. Michaels.
John, Stella and I will definitely visit again!
Very nice Bed and breakfast. Dog friendly!!!
Eric, owner and host, is wonderful and breakfasts are amazing. This is the second visit here and have many more return trips planned. I definitely recommend. I definitely will return.
The location was nice, it was a semi-formal place. Leagues above a sleazy motel, the food was okay and the service was phenomenal
The inn is a beautifully restored Victorian with all the character and warmth you could imagine in a B&B. The room we stayed in, St. Michaels, was very spacious with a comfortable king bed, amazing rain shower and relaxing jacuzzi clawfoot tub. As perfect as the setting was, however, the real treasure was the inn's owner, Eric. Eric went out of his way to make sure every guest was happy and cared for during their stay. We were grateful to have had the opportunity to spend parlor time with Eric and the other guests (and his cute dog Tru!) over a bottle of wine. Eric has travelled all over the world and his stories in front of the fire and Christmas tree were the perfect end to an amazing day in Easton. Eric's attention to detail is unsurpassed. He put the home state or country's flag of each guest up upon arrival and we had the opportunity to take a picture with ours upon departure. It's small touches like this that made the experience truly memorable. His recommendation for dinner was spot on and he even surprised us with champagne to start our meal. It would be remiss of us not to mention our breakfasts were absolutely delicious and the Hummingbird Inn Bellinis were the perfect complement to the meal. We can't wait to come back and visit with our new friend Eric (and Tru) on our next adventure to the Eastern Shore!

The room we stayed in, St. Michaels, was very spacious with a comfortable king bed, amazing rain shower and relaxing jacuzzi clawfoot tub. As perfect as the setting was, however, the real treasure was the inn’s owner, Eric. Eric went out of his way to make sure every guest was happy and cared for during their stay. We were grateful to have had the opportunity to spend...

We just discovered this new B&B in Easton and could not be happier with our stay. We will definitely be staying there in the future as we often visit family in the area.
Every comfort was taken care of and the breakfast was superb!
Clearly, Eric takes great care in all that takes place here.

This was the best B&B experience ever. I was able to select my gourmet breakfast choice for each morning that I was there, from some amazing selections. The Innkeeper, Eric, was so welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The Inn's dog, Tru was also so friendly! In the evening we sat on the porch and enjoyed the view with a great glass of wine. I have already recommended this to my friends and am looking forward to going back!
In addition to its beautiful/charming/elegant decor, for the first time in many years I slept straight through the night. (Did I mention that the bed was absolutely the most comfortable?) Highly recommended.

Just ended (11/26/17) my second -- and longer -- stay at the Hummingbird Inn. Still,comfort-wise/visually/gustatory-wise, excellent. Highest recommendation....

Gorgeous inn run by Eric, a gracious host and amazing person. The rooms are quiet, cozy and beautiful. I am missing porchtime already!
Delicious breakfast... Eric is an amazing cook!
The character and ambience is a breath of fresh air! Eric, is the host with the MOST! This is a gem in the heart of Easton, MD. A must! Porch time is perfection with wine, new friends and glorious conversation. No pretentiousness just REAL great people???????? Thank you for the BEST WEEKEND EVER!
This place is so special and delightful and beautiful! It is a perfect reflection of the owner and host Eric whose graciousness and down to earth charm made me (&everyone else here this weekend) feel like family.
If you want to chill with guests, laugh over wine on the front porch, have your dog feel as welcome as you are... this is your place!!
The town and area has much to offer, and coming back to the Inn at the end of the day was as comfy as a old soft bathrobe.

Beautiful. Elegant. Wonderful host. Warm. Friendly. Thank you. Had a lovely visit.
We loved everything about the Hummingbird Inn. Eric was extremely accommodating when we booked at the last minute and requested an early departure.
Location: a short walk to downtown shopping and restaurants.
Building: the inn has lots of Victorian charm without being upright.
The Room: clean and bright with a very comfortable mattress.
Breakfast: we had the egg casserole, fruit salad, chicken sausage and fruit. It was wonderful.
The best B&B by far!!! You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay at The Hummingbird Inn. Eric is the sweetest and most thoughtful owner/friend that you would ever want to meet. Words cannot describe how much my husband and I enjoyed spending our 2nd Anniversary at The Hummingbird Inn. We will be back for years to come!

The Hummingbird Inn was awesome for our girls weekend. Great food and company, beautiful rooms and close to attractions. Highly recommend
Had a great time at the Hummingbird Inn. Eric was a wonderful host and chef. Will definitely return. 5 stars.
My husband and I visited during a short anniversary celebration away and could not have picked a better place to stay on the Eastern Shore! The house was full of character, decorated and maintained beautifully; the rooms were comfortable and homey (no walking down the hallway to a shared bathroom, every room as its own private full bathroom); and Eric, the owner/operator/chef/all-around-great-person was a lovely host. He welcomed us as we arrived and was more than accommodating, with drinks and snacks available to guests at any time of the day. The farm-to-table breakfast he prepared and served was fabulous and made with all local ingredients. After a delicious dinner at 208 Talbot in St. Michael's, a recommendation from Eric, we returned and enjoyed a gorgeous night out on the beautiful wraparound porch drinking wine and getting to know the other lovely guests - Eric himself joined and it was obvious that he really enjoys getting to know his guests.
We will definitely be making plans to visit Easton again and won't think twice about booking a room at The Hummingbird Inn.
He welcomes dogs and children too! A rarity in bed-and-breakfasts.
We have stayed in B&Bs all over the East coast and the Hummingbird Inn is at the top. The rooms are beautiful, beds glorious, bath room sparkling clean. "Porch-time" was amazing. We were shy and going to have a quick glass of wine. We ended up spending hours laughing and making new friends. Breakfast was gourmet quality, absolutely scrumptious. Lastly, Eric our host was lovely, friendly and warm. He is a truly great host.
We had a terrific time at the inn and hope to visit again soon.
Our room was terrific. It was quiet, clean and bright with a very comfortable mattress.
The inn has lots of Victorian charm but isn't fussy or uptight. There's a big porch and a nice garden on the property. It's also a short walk to downtown shopping and restaurants.
The breakfast was a great way to start the day. There were a couple of options to choose from. I had the egg casserole, fruit salad, chicken sausage and fruit.
WOW. This was by far the best airbnb experience I've ever had, and probably the best BnB experience in general. The atmosphere at the Hummingbird Inn is a perfect combination of elegant and comfortable. It is beautifully decorated without making you feel out of place- so many lovely spaces to sit and chat with other guests indoors and outdoors. Careful attention to detail- free snacks for guests (including a mini-freezer full of ice cream), books, games, and beautifully manicured gardens. Eric was warm, welcoming, and friendly throughout our stay. I was amazed that he was able to easily take care of all the needs of the guests (full house), prepare gourmet breakfasts, and find time to sit and chat- he never seemed harried or too busy to catch up. The breakfast was one of the best meals I can remember having in a long time. He easily accommodated our dietary restrictions, and produced a lovely multi-course meal (fresh fruit cup, warm baked goods, jams from the farmers market, shakshukah and french toast, bellinis/mimosas). Our room- the St. Michaels' room- was spacious and beautiful. The clawfoot tub was also a jacuzzi, and the shower was a rain showerhead- amazing water pressure! The inn is conveniently located in Easton- a charming and artsy town. We can't wait to return!
Also- the inn is very LGBT friendly! :)
Wow! Great host in Eric. Awesome spot and sweet little town. The porch was amazing and the food was to die for. The water pressure in the shower was one of a kind. And our medium-sized dog was welcome and happy.
I can't say enough good things about the Hummingbird Inn in Easton! It's not only beautiful, but the location is great.
Adorable and cozy. Eric is a wonderful host and great cook. The creme brule French toast is rich and decadent.
The best B&B I have ever stayed at. Personal attention to every guest!!. Breakfast to die for. Each room is a gem. Lovely bathrooms. VERY dog friendly. Eric is the perfect host and makes evening "porch time" a total delight. Guests hang out with beautiful music playing, chatting, drinking wine and we all got to know each other. By breakfast the next morning we were all exchanging our contact info.
The grounds are lovely, the brick paved parking lot is not only beautiful but has pleanty of room.
Delicious choice for breakfast.. yummy yummy yummy.
Soooo much fun. We enjoyed our days exploring the area but looked so forward to coming back to the Inn.
Great spot for intimate family and friend reunions!! Come here!!
